Questions & Answers

Sounds awsome! The best thing is to contact the press department hahaha. No, seriously, write us a Mail and we'll figure something out.

Posterkrauts.de was founded by the gig poster artists Antje "Grace Helly" Schröder, Bernd "Señor Burns" Hofmann, Lars "Douze" P. Krause, Jochen "Fritte" Moenig and Torsten "Mitchum D.A." Jahnke. The idea was to offer German-speaking designers of limited concert posters a platform to show their works and to make the public aware of this special kind of original graphics. We are part of this fun troupe!

Of course we would like to do that. But since our posters are all officially approved by the bands or their management, we would have to have a contact first. So if you know someone at your favorite band, write us an email. Unfortunately, we can't just make a poster like that.

Wikipedia says screen printing is a printing process in which the printing ink is printed with a rubber squeegee through a fine-mesh fabric onto the material to be printed. They are not! If you look around a bit in the street art and low-brow sector or in the art scene, you will notice that prints (serigraphy, lithography, etc.) often fetch considerable prices. With an average of 30 €, we tend to be on the lower end here, and there's a reason for that: we think that art should be affordable, especially when it comes to concert posters.

Since the early 90s, an interesting scene of artists and collectors has grown around screen-printed concert posters or gig posters, especially in the USA, but now also in Europe and Asia. Our gig posters are handmade screen prints that are created in consultation with bands, management and concert promoters as official merchandise and are usually available at concerts. Every now and then, however, these posters are put up to advertise the event, but they usually don't stay up for long - keyword art theft.

No, unless your cat has a band and makes great music, then you could do a gig poster.
We run our screen printing workshop as an "ambitious hobby" on the side and print exclusively our own motifs once or twice a week. Unfortunately, we don't have time to look after other people and can't rent out the workshop. As far as we know, however, the workshop of the Mannheimer BBK at the Alte Feuerwache if you have previously taken a screen printing course there.

As we run the workshop as an "ambitious hobby" alongside our actual professions, we unfortunately do not have the time to offer workshops or courses. However, we recommend taking a course at the Mannheim BBK in the Alte Feuerwache. The workshop at the BBK is excellent and the instruction is far better than we could do. We have learned everything we can there and bow to the BBK!

Yes, we paint it all ourselves. We only print our own motifs, which are created using various techniques. Martin, for example, illustrates with ink pens and fineliners, Götz uses Illustrator and ProCreate on the Apple iPad, Christian experiments with analogue and digital media.

We don't do that, because our prints are always strictly limited. Every now and then we print new variants of prints that we and you have liked very much, but that is then the exception and they are always variants in e.g. other colours, sizes, etc. Martin, for example, has been working on the octopus theme for years, and these prints are always sold out quickly, but there are always new cephalopods coming.

Definitely! We are always happy to have visitors! We are usually available on Thursday evenings from 19:00 until approx. 23:00 in our workshop. It's best to call us at lunchtime so that we know that someone is coming and that we are really there.

Of course, all posters can be ordered in our shop and we will send them neatly packed in a poster roll - worldwide!

You tell us! We think so, but that's probably in the eye of the beholder. In any case, it is important to us that our prints are more than mere "souvenirs". We deal with the subject matter in depth when creating them, whether it's a band and their music or an artprint motif.

We offer various payment methods in our shop. If in doubt, just write to us and we'll work something out. It'll work out.

Yes, we have recently started offering vouchers. These can be redeemed directly with us or in the online shop. The cool thing is that the vouchers themselves are of course also mini screen prints, consisting of 2 parts: a motif that the presentee can frame and a voucher that they can redeem!

It depends on whether your band sucks or is good. Write to us and we'll discuss it. Basically, we are always interested in working with cool people, but sometimes the lack of time puts a spanner in the works.

We are always interested in presenting our art to a broad public. The best thing is to write to us and we'll see if we have time.

We can, but we don't, or only for domestic use. There are much better suppliers here. For smaller print runs, we recommend our friends at The Bicycle Press in Barcelona.

Unfortunately no, we only print our own designs or collaborations with other artists.
